I decidied to do a feature, since it is a great way to promote art. But, I thought, there already were great features for almost any topic I could come up with and I didn't want to repeat something over and over.
Then again, I continued, feature is for showing things I appreciate. And it striked me that, especially recently, what I appreciate most are... resources.
My collection of them is pretty vast and contains various elements. It includes many screentones, software tutorials, guides to making good characters and lots of references.
Yet this time I wanted to share something different, something that I see as very helpful for all artists, for animanga style mostly (as we use to draw Japan-themed pictures often, don't we?) and what I had problems finding.
So here it is.
KIMONO TUTORIALS AND REFERENCES
I hope you will see it as useful as I did. Please give these artists much love, they deserve it!
by ~FlidgetJerome - complete with links for tutorials in the Artist's comments!
by ~R-ra (provided translation is by ~bunny-hun)
Other Japanese outfits references
by `taeliac - although it is for sewing a hakama, I recommend reading it. Then you will understand how a hakama looks, acts and folds like better.
Hope you enjoyed this small feature and summary.
Cheers and have a good day!
